The shíshálh Education Department is located at the mem7iman Child Development centre at this location.
For the last 20 years the centre has been dedicated to providing quality learning experiences to children from six months of age to five years of age. In recent years mem7iman has adopted the Reggio Emilia approach to education which incorporates an inquiry-driven, play-based foundation and uses student ideas to direct emergent curriculum.
The shíshálh Nation Education Department’s mena (baby) program is a full-day child development program for children aged 6 to 36 months. Currently there are 16 children enrolled. Each class is staffed by a diverse team of Infant Toddler Educators, Early Childhood Educators and assistants and support workers who collaborate to create a caring and inspiring environment. Our program focuses on shíshálh teachings, outdoor exploration and creative expression. We strive to promote the physical, developmental, emotional, social, cultural and spiritual wellbeing of our students.
Mem7iman is open to shíshálh Nation members and members of the Sunshine Coast.
