Summer Employment
We are excited to announce the Summer Employment Program for 2026, and we are reaching out to the students who participated last year to let you know that applications are now open.
Please review the details below carefully, as there are some important updates and deadlines.
Application Deadline:
The deadline for submitting your application is May 20th, 2026. Applications must be submitted to ETAPS@shishalh.com by this date for consideration.
For business the deadline is May 7th, 2026
Program Details for 2026:
The Summer Employment Program is designed to provide valuable work experience, career-related skills, and professional development for the Nation’s youth and post-secondary students. Priority will be given to Shishalh Nation members, and we strongly encourage you to apply for positions that align with your field of study or career interests.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Age: You must be 15 years or older by May 1st, 2026.
- Location: You must be on the Coast for the entire summer (no remote or part-time work).
- School Status: You must be returning to school full-time in the Fall.
- Program Duration: You must be available to work until the final week of August. Please note, Post-Secondary students typically start their placements earlier, as they finish school before Secondary students.
Important Notes:
- Mentorship and Professional Development: We encourage you to apply for positions that include mentorship and job shadowing, as these experiences offer tremendous value to your personal and professional growth. There are also opportunities for Secondary students to earn Summer School credits, and we will provide more details about that in the coming weeks.
- Social Insurance Number (SIN): You must have a valid SIN to participate. If you do not have one, or need assistance applying for one, please reach out to ETAPS.
